It cannot be stopped by force, political pressure, or even political correctness. It has weathered tumultuous years and lived through multiple heretical diseases.
Jesus will continue to build his church until he returns in glory to redeem his bride, and absolutely nothing or no one can stand in his way. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation. Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble bind on strength. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger.
The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn.
Ten tips for leading church well
The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and he exalts. He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.
According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.Sunday worship services are the core fellowship option for many Christians. During a church service participants sing hymns or songs of praise, pray, read Scripture, listen to a sermon and make an offering. Though there are many common activities held in local church worship, the style of each congregation is unique.
Some congregations prefer quiet, liturgically-based services while other enjoy free-flowing, vocal praise. Conducting worship services requires insightful planning with a knowledge of the church's preferences for worship. Identify the type of worship style and length of the service for the church where you will conduct the service.

Check to see whether the church prefers hymns or contemporary praise songs. Prepare an order of service. If the church uses a liturgy, the order of the service will be obvious from the liturgy setting for the Sunday that you will lead the service.
If there is no liturgy, prepare a service that includes the following elements: opening hymn and prayer; welcome of congregants and guests; confession of sins and prayer of repentance; assurance of forgiveness of sins; congregational hymn; reading of Holy Scriptures; sermon; offering; announcements; closing hymn. Choose hymns and Scriptures.
Check with the church leaders to find out if there is an assigned theme or Scripture for your service. If the church has a minister of music, coordinate with that person to select hymns that are related to the worship theme and Scriptures.
Conduct the service with warmth and sincerity. You will lead the service, announcing to the people when to stand and sit, what hymn numbers to sing and who will pray, preach and make announcements.

Managing a church staff requires managers and leaders who can influence how work gets accomplished. Effective church leaders have certain traits and characteristics that affect their interactions with others.
Leaders influence others to get things done. They help others see what needs to be done and then show them the path forward. Anyone can be a leader—kids can be leaders. That means that person influences your thoughts and behaviors. Leaders often influence us even though we may not be aware of it. The CEO of the hospital I worked for would walk down the hall and pick up trash off of the floor. This example of leading by doing naturally influenced employees to do the same.
It was an unspoken but powerful way to influence others. Leaders are big picture thinkers and can rise above the day-to-day and see things from a broad perspective.
Employees need to get out of their cubes and hear stories of how their work impacts those whom the church is reaching.
My pastor does a great job of providing employees and volunteers with testimonies of people whose lives the ministry has touched. This shows the person who cleans the bathroom that his or her work helps to impact the lives of others. My husband always says there are three sides to every story.
Make sure you know all the facts before making judgments. There have been so many sad examples of leaders who have fallen when they live double lives and their integrity is not consistent in every area of their lives. Leaders have to maintain credibility with the people they lead. This means they do what they say, say what they mean, and are able to communicate honestly with others. Leaders are not threatened by people who are smarter than they are and take pleasure in seeing others succeed.
I always told my staff that I would know that I did a good job if I could walk out the door one day and know that things would go on as if I were still there. We learn best from making mistakes, and allowing others to gain knowledge from their own mistakes is an invaluable lesson.
All of us have had a starting point in our professional development, and allowing others to learn through experiences helps them grow professionally and gain self confidence.
Leaders empower others and recognize that making front-line decisions and taking risks are part of the development and learning process. Establishing boundaries, and allowing others to test decision-making skills and problem-solving not only helps with employee development but also takes the bottleneck out of addressing issues.
Regardless if the issues are internal employee to employee or external organization to customer. The most important aspect of this is not allowing the employees or volunteers to feel like they are hanging out there by themselves. Debriefing after a mistake is made, and coaching them to think of what might have been a better approach, is part of the learning process.
It is very much like parenting: sometimes you need to allow your kids to fall down and pick themselves back up. That is how they learn. Leaders are team players and work well with others to get things done. They operate out of a win-win philosophy and help others to collaborate and come to agreement in tasks. Effective leaders are able to recognize success and help their team celebrate those successes.
This is a critical component in team function and development. Rewarding performance, showing employees appreciation and celebrating successes helps to keep team members engaged. Celebrating even small successes provides the motivation and fuel to go after the bigger targets.
No success is too small to celebrate and can be as simple as a public acknowledgement of a job well done! Leaders have a good understanding of their personal priorities and are able to keep all aspects of their lives balanced. Our regular gatherings should aspire to be rich Col —a rich feeding together on the word of God in song, prayer, praise and preaching.
Practically speaking, the person who leads church can have a massive influence, for good or for ill, on the experience.
Like an orchestra conductor, a leader can determine the difference between whether the parts come together in a beautiful, edifying whole, or dissolve into a chaotic mess. New people, taking our websites and church signs literally, get to church on time, and the time between the advertised start time and the actual start time is the awkwardest time of all for them.
Reward newcomers for believing what our signs say. Start on time—even if hardly anyone is there. Whatever else you need to say, begin with God and end with God. Your big job is to make things flow—flow theologically through thanksgiving, repentance, confession and forgiveness, as well as flow practically as we move from songs to announcements to preaching to conclusions.
Your job is not to provide a running commentary, but to make sure everything flows. Sometimes less is best. If you are welcoming people, please look like you actually want to meet new people. If you are telling people their sins are forgiven, say it like they have actually been forgiven. Part of your job is to keep up with a sense of where things are going. If we have just heard a powerful sermon, sung a moving song, or heard from a missionary in a Jordanian refugee camp, make sure that what you say next is sensitive to what just happened.
Sometimes silence, prayer or song is a perfectly good way to pick the moment. Remember: standing for the creed, sitting or kneeling for confession, and doing something for prayer stand, sit, kneel are all part of picking your moment. Please be at the lectern, ready to speak as soon as possible. In our church, it is tantamount to a capital offence to shuffle from where you are sitting to do your thing while we all sit and watch.
Note that after a song, this means coming to the front before the song has ended. To pray is to ask God for something. We come together to bring our prayers and request to God. Therefore, pray for something.
Trust the songs, prayers, preaching and so on to do their work. Maybe they feel about as dark, broken and guilty as they have ever felt. But our gatherings do serve a vital role in the Christian life, and they are worth doing well. I reckon if we started with these ten tips, most of our gatherings would experience a significant lift. If it was charged with emotion, we like it. If the band has it together, we like it. We attend concerts, idolize artists and chase experiences because of how they make us feel.
But it can leave us discontented with the local church God has called us to and distract us from asking the most important question of all. That truly is what matters. Because worship is for God. Worship is an offering that rises to Him. Can you hear it? Romans echoes throughout the world:. To him be glory forever. The question is important for various reasons. First, it puts the responsibility on behalf of the worshiper.
It undercuts consumerism. I have a responsibility.Orchestra conductor salary
You have a responsibility. We are all called. Second, it reminds us that God is the only One who can judge the quality of worship. So—people of God—what is a great worship service?
And how can we do our part to make sure it happens every time? God desires worship that is based in truth and led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads our hearts to the true knowledge of God.
They were celebrating, singing and lifting praise to God. The problem with this celebration was that they were a disobedient people. Incredible worship will always be rooted in a singular desire to obey God. We want to do what pleases Him. That is the truest expression of our worship.
